All of our puppies are sold with either AKC LIMITED or an AKC FULL
registration application. Limited means you are not interested in breeding
your beloved pet and that you agree to spay/neuter your new addition to
limit the amount of unwanted animals in the shelters and Full means you
are interested in taking your new baby to a conformation show competition
or you are a responsilble breeder and have discussed the right to breed your
new addition.
Our puppies receive their first vaccination at age 7 weeks and have been on a regular de-worming program from 2 weeks of age. We use the
Duramune 5 Puppy Shot for our babies and this does not contain the Leptospirosis vaccine as small breeds can be allergic and have a
reaction. You can discuss this with your vet when you take your puppy for their 2nd shot. Puppies are de-wormed using Nemex 2 which kills
round worms and hook worms. These are the common puppy worms. ALL puppies are born with round worms so please do not let anyone tell
you different. Worms can be difficult to eradicate but we do our utmost best to ensure your puppy is free and healthy from all worms. If
your vet does find some worms, please remember, this is an ongoing process for your dog's life and they will continually need to be treated
for them per your vet's recommendations. We can only do as our vet suggests with our de-worming program and that is all anyone can do is
their best. Puppies need a minimum of 3 vaccinations and some vets prefer 4 so be prepared to take your puppy to the vet for 2-3 more shots
per your vet's schedule. Your puppy will also need a rabies shot which can be given at 16 weeks of age. Some puppies do get stressed going to
their new home and it is a very common thing for a puppy to have some loose stools due to the stress. Please allow your new baby an
adjustment time as they are small and do get stressed very easily.
Puppies are raised in our home so that they are acclimated to all household noises. I have 2 daughters that are 14 and 10 and they do
their job well at socializing your new baby. All puppies are held from day one so that they are used to human contact. Our puppies are
raised in exercise pens in our home, not in a box, so that they have plenty of room to play. They are weaned around age 4-5 weeks of age
from their mothers and are eating solid puppy food by the time they are ready for their new home. We recommend a good quality puppy
food for optimum health and for shiny coats so please take the time to research what you will feed your new baby. We have been using
Eukanuba or Iams and we like the results. Your local pet supply store has a wide variety of quality food and they can help you choose one
for your new baby. Remember to wean them gradually from the food they were eating here to the food you have chosen to feed them so
as not to give them loose stools.
We prefer that you drive to our home to pick up your new baby but if you need to have your puppy shipped to you we will
ship them safely with Delta Airlines. Shipping is an extra $300 added to the cost of your new puppy. We have shipped
puppies as far as Alaska and have not had one single incident where something went wrong. Shipping does require the
added cost of an airline approved crate, the shipping cost itself and a special health certificate specifically for flying
which costs more at our vet's office. We ship out of the Asheville, NC airport to anywhere in the USA. Please let us
know ahead of time if you need to have your new baby shipped to you. Puppies are shipped in cargo in a climate
controlled environment and we do not ship unless weather is permitting. Puppies are only shipped if the temperature is
between 45 and 85 degrees during the whole time your puppy is enroute to you. Puppies are also insured at time of
shipping through Delta airlines.
